Silkworm Inc. Press Center
The Silkworm Inc. Press Center for working press is located
on the south end of the second floor of the press box at Saluki
Stadium. It opens two hours prior to game time. Radio, coaches
and TV booths are located in the center of the second floor of the
press box.
Meals will be served prior to kickoff. Media credentials are
required for admittance to the press box and for meals.
Game programs and flip cards will be made available in the
press box while all game notes, statistics and media guides will
be available on SIU’s game day web page, where you can also
find a link to the game viewer for live in-game stats.
Postgame statistics and play-by-plays will be provided in the
press box after the game.
Complimentary wireless Internet is available for use. An SIU IT
representative will be on hand to assist media members accessing
the wireless network.
A limited number of phone lines and hard-wire ethernet outlets
are available for use on a first-come, first-serve basis in the
Silkworm Inc. Press Center. Dial “9” to get an outside line.
Credentials
Credentials are required for entrance to the press box or access
to the field (for photographers). To request a season or single-
game press credential and/or sideline credential, please e-mail
Assistant AD Tom Weber at tomweber@siu.edu.
Credential requests should be made by sports editors or sports
directors of accredited media outlets and should be limited to
working media only. Because of limited space, requests should be
made as early as possible. Family/friends of credentialed media
members will not be granted access to the press box.
Credentials will be mailed to the requesting individual or
organization if time permits or sent to the visiting school’s sports
information director for distribution. Credentials can also be
picked up in the Media Services office located in Room 117 of
Lingle Hall or at the media will call at Saluki Stadium.
Credentials will be issued to working media only. Media
credentials are not transferable and use by anyone other
than members of the working media is unauthorized. News
organizations allowing unauthorized individuals to use
credentials will have their credentials revoked for the remainder
of the year.
Sideline Access
Sideline access is closely monitored at Saluki Stadium. In
addition to a media credential, field photographers must obtain
an armband that allows access to the sideline. Armbands will
be available on the second floor of the press box. The armband
must be worn in plain sight at all times. Please observe NCAA
regulations and shoot from the designated areas. Photographers
must shoot from behind the white lines between the 25-yard line
and the back of the end zone on either side of the field.
Game Day Parking
Media working on deadline may request parking access in
Reserved Lot C located in the circle lot on the south side of the
SIU Arena. Names will be provided to the parking attendant
on game day. Other media should park in the non-reserved lot
directly south of Saluki Drive.
Postgame Procedure
Postgame interviews will take place in the Tedrick Auditorium,
located in the Boydston Center across the hall from the football
offices. Head coach Dale Lennon and requested players will
be made available in the football auditorium approximately 10
minutes following the game.
SIU’s locker room is closed following games. The visiting team’s
locker room is located on the bottom floor of Lingle Hall. The
visiting SID will establish postgame interview policies for their
coach and players.

Interviews During the Week
Head coach Dale Lennon will hold a weekly press conference
on Mondays in the Tedrick Auditorium on the second floor of the
Boydston Center.
Immediately after the press conference, selected players will be
available in the locker room on the lower level of the Boydston
Center. Media should send interview requests by e-mail to Tyler
Wooten (tjwooten@siu.edu) by 5 p.m. on Sunday evening. If
a player is unavailable for interviews on Monday due to class
schedule, there will be a brief opportunity to interview the player
before practice on Tuesday. Please coordinate this interview with
a member of the Media Services staff.
Players may not be interviewed without permission from Media
Services. Cell phone numbers will not be given out.
True freshmen and newcomers will not be available for
interviews until after their first game, unless otherwise granted
permission by head coach Dale Lennon.
Out of town media wishing to conduct interviews with players
or coaches may do so by phone. Please contact Scott Gierman to
arrange an interview.
Practice Policies
Training camp practices are open to the media, unless otherwise
noted. A weekly interview schedule will be distributed to the
e-mail list. Media must remain on the sidelines at all times. When
Coach Lennon speaks to the team as a group after practice, media
must remain on the sideline.
Media may watch practice during the season on Tuesdays and
Wednesdays. On days the team practices in Saluki Stadium,
members of the media must move into the stands. Video and still
photographers may shoot the first 20 minutes of actual practice
time.
