All-MVC Second Team
Spent the entire season as the Friday starter
and the anchor of the staff...Led the team
with 16 starts, 104.2 innings pitched and
84 strikeouts...Became the first pitcher
in program history to throw 100 or more
innings in consecutive seasons...Ranked in
the top 10 in the MVC in opposing batting
average, innings pitched, strikeouts and
starts...In seven conference starts, posted
a 1.43 ERA and held opponents to a .191
average against...His 54.1 innings pitched in
conference games, led the MVC...Recorded
three consecutive complete games, including
a five-hit shutout of Creighton on 4/21...Twice
struck out a career-high 11 batters in a single
start...Named MVC Pitcher of the Week on
4/23...Pitched 7.0 innings, allowing three
runs and striking out eight to earn the win
against Wichita State in the first round of the
MVC Tournament.
2011 (SOPHOMORE)
All-MVC First Team
First Saluki pitcher since 2005 to garner first
team accolades...Named the MVC Pitcher
of the Week after throwing seven scoreless
innings with a career-high 10 strikeouts in a
win at No. 28 Creighton on April 23...Finished
with a 8-5 record on the year...His 2.35 ERA
was the second-lowest among all starting
pitchers in the MVC...Finished second in the
MVC with 103.1 innings pitched...Lasted six
innings or longer in 14 of his 15 starts and
the one start that he did go six innings was
because he was taken out of the game after
being hit on the mound by a line drive in the
fourth inning in the MVC Tournament opener
against Missouri State...Walked just 11 of the
429 (2.5 percent) batters he faced on the year,
which was the fewest among all pitchers in the
MVC...Ranked 10th in the nation in fewest
walks per nine innings pitched (.96) and he
did not walk more than two batters in any of
his 15 starts...Became the first Saluki pitcher
since 2005 to win six conference games, as he
finished with a 6-1 MVC record and 1.59 ERA
in league play...Opposing batters hit .259 off
him on the season...Allowed just 37 runs and
27 earned on the year...Threw three complete
games, including one at No. 7 South Carolina
on Feb. 26...Only had two wild pitches on the
season...Threw eight scoreless innings in a
2-0 win at Memphis en route to being named
to the University of Memphis Baseball Classic
All-Tournament Team on March 6...Threw a
nine-inning complete game in a 4-3 win over
Wichita State, April 23.
2010 (FRESHMAN)
Appeared in 22 games and made three
starts...Had a 2-2 record and a 7.88 ERA...
Only pitcher on the staff with three relief
appearances that went longer than four
innings...Picked up his first career win on
March 30 against UT-Martin, when he threw
three scoreless innings of relief...His second
win of the season was at Southeast Missouri
State, April 6.
HIGH SCHOOL
Three-time all-conference pitcher during prep
career...As a senior he was named the Semi-
State Most Valuable Player and was also an
all-district and all-region selection...Posted
a 13-1 record on the mound in 2009 with a
0.70 ERA...Also played soccer for three years
