runs...Hit .292 with a .443 on-base percentage,
second highest on the team...Was the only
player on the team with more walks than
strikeouts...Recorded three multi-hit games...
Threw out seven of 34 (20.6%) attempted
base stealers...Went 4-for-4 and scored three
runs in SIU’s 11-8 win over No. 19 Stetson on
3/3...Made three conference starts...Hit .317
in non-conference games...Hit .313 in the final
five weeks of the season...Did not appear in the
MVC Tournament.
JUNIOR COLLEGE (HEARTLAND CC)
Played in two NJCAA DII Region 24
Tournaments, including the 2011 team that
went won the Region 24 tournament, ending
the season ranked No. 1 in the nation...That
season the Hawks went 54-11, with Mottashed
starting 41 games and contributing a .386
batting average with six HRs, 46 RBI and a
.636 slugging percentage.
HIGH SCHOOL
Played two varsity seasons with the Cary
Grove Trojans and was twice named to the All-
Conference team... Batted a career .406, with
a .530 OBP, .586 SLG and had 55 RBI...As a
senior was named the team MVP and to the
All-Area and Region first teams as the Trojans
advanced to a fourth place finish in the state
tournament.
