Former Saluki outfielder Joe Wallis was inducted into the Saluki Hall of Fame this year. In 1971 he helped
lead Southern to the College World Series as he hit .446 for the year, a school record that still stands.
Drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the sixth round in 1973, he played five years in the major leagues.
