SIx-STrAIGhT NCAA APPEArANCES

The 2002 Sweet 16 season started a run of six-straight NCAA Tournament appearance for

Southern Illinois, culminating in another Sweet 16 showing in 2007. During the six-year

span, the Salukis were guided by three different head coaches. Bruce Weber took SIU to

the tournament in 2002 and 2003. It was Matt Painter’s turn in 2004. Chris Lowery took

the reigns and guided Southern to berths in 2005, 2006 and 2007. The Salukis received

coveted At-Large bids to the NCAA Tournament in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2007.
