The guiding hand behind the team’s strength 

program is coach Clete McLeod. The primary 

objectives of the strength and conditioning 

program at Southern Illinois University are to 

reduce the incidence of injury and help student- 

athletes achieve their full athletic potential. 

These objectives are achieved by designing and 

implementing a long-term and comprehensive 

strength, speed and conditioning program. 


Through the guidance of the strength staff, 

Saluki student-athletes will become better 

athletes and be prepared both physically and 

mentally for the rigors of collegiate athletics.
