aura Miller enters her first season as a graduate
assistant athletic trainer for Saluki Athletics and her
first season as the trainer for Saluki volleyball.
Prior to SIU, Miller spent three seasons as a student
athletic trainer for Nicholls State Athletics. Miller also
served as the first aid and head camp manager at Varsity
Camp Administration as well as working three seasons
as a student athletic trainer at the Manning Passing
Academy and two summers as an intern at Volleyball
Festival. Miller received her bachelor’s degree in athletic
training from Nicholls State in 2013 and she is pursuing
a master’s degree in kinesiology at SIU.

A
my Drabant shifts to the role of student assistant
for SIU volleyball after starring on the court for the
Salukis in 2012.
Drabant saw action in all 30 matches last season at
setter, ranking second in the Missouri Valley Conference
with an average of 11.33 assists per set.
Drabant’s duties with the team this season will
include assisting with video analysis of practices and
matches, managing video library of opponents, helping
coordinate team travel and other office duties.
C
hris Roth enters his second season as a strength
coach with SIU Athletics and his second season
working with Saluki volleyball.
In addition to working with the volleyball team,
Roth also assists with the strength and conditioning
training of the football, women’s basketball, swimming
and diving and tennis teams.
Prior to SIU, Roth spent four years as an intern and
assistant strength coach with Oregon State Athletics.
Roth received his bachelor’s degree in exercise
and sport science from Oregon State in 2012 and he is
pursuing his master’s degree in kinesiology at SIU.
Roth is USA Weightlifting certified and he competes
in strongman, power lifting and Olympic weight lifting.
Roth is married to the former Rachel Polack.

arah James also shifts her role with Saluki
volleyball from player to student assistant for the
2013 season.
James saw action in 23 matches for the Salukis
at middle blocker as a freshman in 2011 before injuries
sidelined her for the 2012 season.
James’s duties with the team this season will
include assisting with video analysis of practices and
matches, managing video library of opponents, helping
coordinate team travel and other office duties.
