NCAA Tournament
The 1989-90 Salukis tied for the Gateway Conference regular
season title before defeating Illinois State 71-54 for the Gate-
way Tournament title. Amy Rakers was named the Gateway
regular season and tournament MVP. The Salukis went on to
lose to Ohio State 73-61 in the NCAA Tournament. Rakers
led SIU with averages of 20.7 points and 10.5 rebounds per
game.

NCAA Tournament
The 1991-92 Salukis earned an at-large bid to the NCAA
Tournament after finishing second in the Missouri Valley
Conference regular season standings and falling to Valley
Champion and eventual Final Four participant Southwest
Missouri State in the MVC Tournament. The Salukis won
the program’s second-ever NCAA Tournament game with an
84-80 overtime win over Colorado before falling to Ole Miss
72-56 in the second round. First-Team All-MVC selection Anita
Scott led four Salukis averaging double figures scoring with
13.7 points per game while fellow first-teamer Kelly Firth led
the team with 9.7 rebounds per game.

WNIT
The 2006-07 Salukis won the team’s first conference title
in 17 seasons and recorded the program’s most wins in 16
years. Southern earned a bid to the WNIT where the Salukis
topped Stephen F. Austin 58-60 in the opening round before
falling to Kansas State 72-46 in the second round. Dana
Eikenberg was named the MVC Coach of the Year and while
Carlai Moore earned First-Team All-MVC honors. Moore led the
Salukis with an average of 13.4 points per game.
