The 2002 team finished the season
ranked No. 22 in the Coaches Poll, the
school’s first national ranking since the
1976-77 season. The team set a school
record for wins (28), beat two ranked
teams (No. 23 Georgia and No. 22
Indiana) and defeated teams from power
conferences such as Conference USA,
the Big 12, the Big Ten and the SEC.
