Audra Anderson enters her seventh season at Southern Illinois University with an overall record of 91-53
and 30-17 in the Missouri Valley Conference.
In 2013 Southern came out on fire, winning 9-of-10 matches to start the season and finishing with a
school record 19 wins. Anderson was named the Missouri Valley Conference Coach of the Year for the
first time in her career.The Salukis concluded their season at the MVC Championships where they fell to
Wichita State to end the season. SIU was led by senior Melanie Delsart who finished 22-11 in singles play
and Natasha Tomishima who finished with a team-high 25 wins. Delsart and partner Anastacia Simons
finished their season with a 29-6 doubles record while going 5-2 in the MVC.
The Salukis finished with a 17-6 record and a 5-2 MVC record in the 2012 season. SIU was led by Delsart
who finished the year with a 17-5 record, which all were at the No. 1 singles position.
SIU concluded the 2011 season after compiling a 12-13 overall record and a 4-5 record in the Missouri
Valley Conference. Southern was led by sophomore Melanie Delsart with a 12-10 No. 1 singles record
while Korey Love finished with an 11-10 record.
The 2010 Salukis began right where they left off in the previous season. After an challenging non-
conference schedule that saw them face Marshall, Louisville and Tulane early in the year, the team posted
a 15-9 overall record (5-2 MVC). In addition, Melanie Delsart earned MVC Freshman of the Year honors,
becoming the first Saluki tennis player to earn the award. Martina Vianna Ce earned her third MVC
Scholar-Athlete team nod, while Emily Whitney was honorable mention.
The 2009 season was a year of great progress for the Saluki women’s tennis program, as seniors Fadzai
Mawisire and Ame Blacketer headlined Southern’s best finish in 18 years with a 17-8 overall record. Both
players were named MVC all-conference, while Mawisire was named the Valley’s Player of the Year.The
Salukis would advance all the way to the MVC semifinals before bowing out.
In the 2008 season, Anderson led the Salukis to a 11-12 record (4-4 MVC). Southern was led by senior
Sabine Tsala Mvilong’s 15-8 record in top singles and Jessica Flannery’s 13-9 mark in singles.
Prior to joining the Salukis, Anderson spent four seasons as head coach of men’s and women’s tennis at
Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Ky. During the 2007 season, she was a finalist for NAIA National
Women’s Coach of the Year. In addition, Anderson was named the Mid-South Conference Coach of the
